In Loving Memory of
John "Johnny" William Talaska
1964 - 1969
Rested in Perrysburg, Ohio
Secondary Monument in Ashdown, Arkansas
Story according to his mother, Erika in an interview by Eric around 2007:
Johnny was born under complications as the medical team failed to get an anesthesiologist to give a needed shot in the spine, wouldn't let his mother have him and thus his oxygen got cut off. From up five months old, he was not crawling normally and was not diagnosed with anything. At age one he had convulsions every few minutes and at least one side of his brain was damaged from seizures. He was placed in exercise rehab to develop. At age five, he was placed in a care center where he got a foot caught in a crib and an anesthetic left him weak, ultimately ending in death from weakness. However the death certificate says he died of asphyxiation. Since the hospital was negligent to cause Johnny's brain damage, Leo & Erika could have sued the doctor and/or hospital. But since Leo's father was a doctor, he was under pressure not to sue any other doctor, so they didn't. But Dr. Frank was also a very mean, selfish person, so perhaps Leo & Erika should have sued.
November 20th is so close to Thanksgiving and the date Charlotte Talaska passed, Erika often became a bit depressed around the holidays. Both Erika and Leo were very quiet and reserved regarding Johnny. Eric had to make many interview attempts just to get the bits of information above.
